Frisco Song (C) 1976
D -Barre-BM -Dm3
G -A- D- run
Written on our first visit to California in 1975, at Pat and Ken’s apartment on 2nd Avenue, Curly haired Cyndy and I had a magical time and so many returns to the city on the bay and the golden state for so much learning and enjoyment…
I have always loved the first and only recorded version with Buffalo, Dave Haletky and Bruce especially the Grateful Dead like extended instrumental jam at the end.
Sitting by the window on 2nd Avenue
The sun sits on the city, Frisco skies are golden hued-
We’ll take the gold along in the morning when we leave,
In the morning when we leave.
Rocking back and forth in the old oak easy chair,
The cool night breeze is blowing through your sun-streaked curly hair.
You’re seeing things you never knew were there,
Never knew were there…
Instrumental Break-
Away from home, sea to shining sea,
The buildings and the Bay and the loving company,
Take the memories to sit and rock awhile,
And smile….
Frisco Bay I’m on my way,
But I’ll be back again …I’ll be back again …
Instrumental
