Beginning songs- Cyndy

Some Stories and Comments...about as soon as I began to first play the guitar’1967 or so thanks to Nancy Kate’s example ( and I had wanted to play so badly as I had watched others play and sing those folk anthems of Peter, Paul &Mary. Bob Dylan etc at parties so magically ) I began rather obsessively (shades of my religious mysticism) to write lyrics to tunes I kept in my head or vice versa. on scraps of paper, times cards at UPS, etc. It was a way of chronicling my experiences and observations (none of them unique, but all of them mine or ours shared. and as I started to play them for others and received praise /encouragement that ego fire got stoked and I’d write all the more and there were fun and exciting times playing with Buffalo McGillvary-Dave Haletky.-Ralph Vatalarro Eudaimon‘s on Nanasket Beach during Stoney Trotman‘s “Firewood “ band breaks and RHS related “gigs‘ , recording with them and Cyndy by Moulty from the Barbarians played on Cambridge’s WCAS radio then with Phil ,Jimmy Peterson and Debbie recording more , next with Bob and Dave at the Nameless Coffeehouse, the Club Zircon, and the ultimate at Club Passim , writing and researching during our 78-79 trip and then reforming and recording the SeaBright album released in 1981 , the “crash” , some fun with Steve Murphy - hundreds of attempts to “sell” my songs ..I was better at talking the talk about love in those days ....mostly a positive obsessive/dream…Cyndy as I have said so sorry for any exclusions and deepest thanks always for your loving support of my efforts and aspirations...and while I call myself a “songwroter” since that door shut soon after the album in 1981(never wanted to be a big star with all the attendant dysfunction ,just get some recognition and support our /family life, keep writing and perform maybe once a month or so- and I never would trade what we have for what could have been) in the end I did write a number of very good songs and perhaps a few “great “ones...and here are some with background as I recall…

First and always a “Song for Cyndy” (echoes of “Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms”)``````````````````````````````````````````````

You asked me to write you a song dear
of a love grown old , yet ever new
Well it’s there all the time, everywhere you can hear ...
My whole life is a song that that I sing with you!
My whole life is a song that I sing with you... (beautiful music...”my favorite love song is each day -
I live with you!)
